**Job Purpose**
As Brand Protection Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting Unilever’s global brand protection programmes and initiatives—both online and offline—to prevent, detect, and disrupt counterfeiting and illicit trade. Reporting to the Head of Trade Marks & Brand Protection, you will drive collaboration, intelligence sharing, and rapid response across global brand protection colleagues and Trade Mark Counsels. You will also build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Security, Customer Development, Supply Chain) and external partners (customs, police, investigators, and other enforcement agencies). This role is based in **Barcelona**, one of Unilever’s growing Legal Powerhouses, which forms part of the Legal Function and provides structured services to our lawyers and the wider business.
**Responsibilities*** **Strategy & Collaboration**: work with Trademark Counsels, Business Unit Legal Counsel, and relevant business partners to develop and implement strategies to protect Unilever’s IP rights against counterfeits and illicit products globally and support and coordinate internal meetings between the global brand protection practice group and the wider IP team to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.* **Law Enforcement & Training:** establish and maintain effective relationships with police, customs, and government agencies and organize and deliver training sessions and seminars, including preparing presentations and materials for enforcement partners when required.* **Operational Support:** manage day-to-day coordination of Unilever’s offline brand protection program, including customs recordals, detentions, and seizures and support digital enforcement programs by monitoring e-commerce platforms and social media for IP infringements and counterfeit activity. Should this be work with our external enforcement partner……* **Data Analysis & Intelligence:** analyze brand protection data to identify high-value targets and track global counterfeit trends, shipping routes, and hotspots and prepare intelligence reports and maintain accurate records in the case management system.* **External Network Management:** support in coordinating Unilever’s global network of law firms, investigators, and brand protection service providers.**Experiences & Qualifications** * Minimum of **3-5 years** of experience* Experienced in brand protection, anti-counterfeiting, and/or illicit trade enforcement.* Background in an in-house legal team, ideally within FMCG.* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Copilot, and IP tools (case management systems, trademark search/watch platforms).**Skills*** Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English.* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.* Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and work across multiple time zones.* Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn, with a willingness to take on varied responsibilities.* Strong team player with the ability to work independently and deliver team priorities without daily supervision.: Whatever their role, always looks for better ways to serve consumers.
