Job Summary We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and creative Marketing and Outreach Coordinator to contribute to the development of marketing and communications for the University of Utah Housing & Dining Programs (HDP) department.

This hybrid role will supervise a student designer and coordinate a range of marketing projects, ensuring brand consistency and utilizing traditional and digital publishing tools to produce diverse communication materials. The coordinator will work closely with a marketing and communications unit that includes an associate director, a manager, and two specialists who oversee student interns.

Responsibilities

Design and coordinate marketing communication projects (campaigns, photoshoots, guides, banners, posters, TV screen advertisements).

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and send timely emails to HDP residents, including move‑in information, emergency communications, and newsletters.

Assist in collaborative work with campus departments such as Dining Services, Admissions, Orientation, Print & Mail Services, University Marketing & Communications, and Auxiliary Services.

Represent HDP at recruitment and outreach events in and out of state, including weekend and after‑hours events.

Create presentations for outreach events and serve as a presenter to audiences such as families, incoming students, and campus partners.

Coordinate staffing needs for marketing‑related events, including recruitment events, presentations, and tabling.

Provide training to Outreach Ambassadors and Housing Ambassador staff for outreach events and on‑campus tours.

Perform other related technical duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (one year of education equals two years of experience).

At least one year of related experience and demonstrated human‑relations and effective communication skills.

Experience in different styles of writing, publishing software packages, and advertising concepts is preferred.

Preferences

Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Proficient user of Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Canva, and email marketing platforms.

Experience creating slide decks and presenting information to individuals and groups.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Familiarity with a variety of computer software, project management experience, and ability to work both individually and in a team setting.

Additional Information Full‑time position; Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm, with rare evenings or weekend work based on departmental events. Hybrid role requires regular in‑person meetings and presence at the campus. Pay range: $48,000 – $53,000. Location: Campus. Requisition Number: PRN43952B.
