Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

We’re looking for a social‑first content creator who knows how to build brands in the feed. This role is for a true social native who understands how attention is earned, how trends evolve, and how strong ideas translate into content people actually stop for.

The Social Content Creator is equal parts idea‑generator, producer, and executor. You should be energized by spotting opportunities, developing concepts, and bringing them to life quickly across video, static, and carousel formats. This is not a traditional art director or copywriter role. It’s a hands‑on creator role for someone who knows how social works, what performs, and how to move fast without sacrificing quality. We recognize that strong social creators often specialize. This role is open to candidates who are exceptional at either social‑first video creation or in‑feed design for social platforms. While some candidates may bring both skill sets, deep expertise in one is absolutely sufficient.

While this is a creative role, not a strategy role, the right candidate understands social strategy well enough to make smart creative decisions instinctively.

Responsibilities

Concept, produce, and deliver social‑first content across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.

Identify trends worth participating in and ignore those that do not align with brand or audience relevance.

Create social‑first content across short‑form video and/or static and carousel formats, depending on your area of expertise.

Own projects end‑to‑end, from ideation and pitching through shooting, editing, and final delivery.

Translate broader brand and campaign goals into social executions that feel authentic, timely, and engaging.

Collaborate with senior content directors and creative leadership while independently driving assigned projects.

Leverage Chicago office resources, including studio space, equipment, and in‑house talent, to produce content efficiently.

Work quickly and decisively in a fast‑moving environment where speed, relevance, and craft all matter.

Success in this role looks like content that consistently earns attention, drives engagement, and contributes to audience growth across platforms.

Create content with a clear point of view on why it will perform, informed by platform behavior, audience signals, and past performance.

Qualifications

2–5 years of experience creating content specifically for social media, from an agency, brand, freelance, or creator background.

Experience contributing to the growth of a brand or creator account through organic social content.

Demonstrated understanding of how content performs in real feeds, including hooks, pacing, visual language, and audience behavior.

Strong hands‑on experience creating video content, including shooting and editing.

Ability to create and design static and carousel content with a strong eye for composition, pacing, and visual storytelling.

Comfortable being on camera or directing others on camera to capture authentic, engaging content.

Highly resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable working with quick turnarounds.

Strong communication, organization, and project ownership skills.

A portfolio is required and should demonstrate social‑first work across formats. We’re especially looking to see:

Must have one or both of:

Short‑form video created for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or LinkedIn.

Examples of in‑feed static or carousel content designed specifically for social media.

Portfolio examples should include brief context on the goal of the content and how it performed when possible.

Work that shows strong ideas, platform awareness, and an understanding of how content performs in real social environments.

Nice to Have

Advanced editing skills using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar tools.

Motion graphics or light animation experience.

Experience creating or iterating on paid social creative.

Experience working directly with creators, influencers, or internal talent.

Experience building or contributing to a distinct brand voice on social.
