Base Pay Range

$85,000 per year – $100,000 per year.

We are looking for a Jr. Art Director to support Thuma’s Brand Creative team across concept development, production, and post‑shoot execution for brand and campaign content. You will be involved in shaping creative ideas, coordinating shoots, and refining assets across stills, video, and digital touchpoints. This role is ideal for someone with strong visual instincts, loves being close to the work, and wants to bring brand campaigns together from start to finish.

Location & Work Style

San Francisco, CA – three days in the office each week with occasional additional days as needed. Hybrid work is supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Art Director on concepting and idea development for campaigns and ongoing content.
  • Support brand standards by maintaining and evolving visual consistency across channels.
  • Assist with art direction on set, ensuring creative intent translates through execution.
  • Create and own compelling visual content that elevates brand storytelling across campaigns and touchpoints.
  • Coordinate with production partners to keep shoots organized, efficient, and on schedule.
  • Manage asset organization and maintenance within the DAM system.
  • Produce decks for campaign launches, internal reviews, creative concepts, and presentations.
  • Support content creation for brand moments.

Pre‑Production Planning

  • Build mood, styling, and reference decks.
  • Assist with shot lists and creative outlines.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to capture all marketing needs.

Post‑Production Collaboration

  • Mark up images and direct retouching.
  • Review proofs and conduct quality control to ensure all assets meet brand standards.

This Might Describe You

  • 1–3 years on‑set experience, effectively directing talent and crew during shoots.
  • A portfolio showcasing strong visual taste across design, photography, video, or art direction fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and familiarity with Figma. Experience with Bynder or DAM systems is a plus.
  • A working knowledge of production and post‑production for stills and video.
  • Strong typography, layout, and composition skills.
  • An interest in the full pre‑through‑post production process.
  • Awareness of current fashion, design, and culture, with an appreciation for archival references.
  • Strong written communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • The ability to take feedback thoughtfully and collaborate closely with a creative team.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced, startup‑style environment.
  • An eagerness to explore and leverage AI in creative work.
  • A curious, self‑directed mindset with a genuine desire to learn and grow creatively.
