Overview
We’re partnering with a leading industry client to find a talented Beauty / Cosmetics Video Editor to support a creative team where you will primarily be editing videos for social media and digital paid ad campaigns (so social‑specific editing samples are required; make sure they are linked in your resume when applying).
MUST HAVE experience in video editing for beauty / cosmetics / fashion brands, along with recent samples of that work.
The role involves crafting engaging video content for various digital platforms, including social media, and maintaining high standards of post‑production quality.
Type: Contract‑to‑hire, fully on‑site M‑F near Santa Monica, awesome studio
Schedule: Regular business hours daily
Pay: $40 - $45/hr, paid weekly, benefits eligible. Salary conversion will be $80,000 to $90,000.
Video Editor Responsibilities
- Assist senior editors and creative leadership in shaping video content for short‑form and long‑form platforms, including TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, brand films, sizzles, and case studies
- Import, transcode, sync, and organize raw footage and assets within established workflows
- Build rough assemblies and string outs based on creative briefs or scripts, maintaining clear timelines and labeling systems
- Support light color correction, audio leveling, and motion graphics under guidance from senior editors
- Keep project files organized and manage storage workflows across shared drives and cloud platforms
- Export, encode, and deliver final videos in multiple aspect ratios and codecs optimized for social and digital platforms
- Manage revisions, versioning, and delivery according to specifications and stakeholder feedback
- Collaborate with creative and production teams to ensure consistency with brand standards
- Troubleshoot common post‑production issues and assist with basic software/hardware setup when necessary
- Stay current on emerging editing tools, platform requirements, and content best practices
Video Editor Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands‑on video editing or post‑production experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro; overall knowledge of After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Collaborative mindset with eagerness to learn and apply feedback
- Passion for culture, social media, and content that captures attention
- Strong understanding of video codecs, terminology, and editing workflows
- DaVinci Resolve familiarity
- Experience working with ARRI / RED / Canon / Phantom footage workflows
