Summary
The Outside Sales and Project Manager represents the Company, develops relationships with industry professionals and produces sales for the Company. Responsible for overseeing the building or remodeling of both commercial and residential properties. This represents the business-to-business side of the business. There is also the business-to-consumer side where advertising and marketing of the Company brand facilitates interest and contact by the end consumers. Meeting the needs for these prospects is equally essential in developing a solid reputation as a reliable resource for the Company products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage territory sales and pricing for clients.
- Represent the company and its products within the defined territory known as the Bay Area: From Eureka to Santa Barbara.
- Travel within sales territory to meet or visit clients, General Contractors, Architects, Designers, Real State Firms, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct calls and face-to-face meetings with clients and stakeholders daily.
- Build and maintain relationships with new and established clients and stakeholders.
- Manage architectural plans, take-offs, and quoting strategies.
- Communicate with Factory reps, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Sourcing technical information.
- Establish selling price for quoting purposes and manage the gross profit (following company guidelines).
- Once the project is in the billing system, follow through in communication over specifications, shop drawing review, file keeping, order tracking, shipping progress, and delivery details.
- Oversee satisfactory installation and project completion as part of the team.
- Oversee product delivery and manage any freight damage, and warranty claim follow-up.
- Keep up to date with competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand clients’ needs.
- Meet sales quotas as established by the Company.
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports and any other required statistical data reporting.
- Assist other team members with transactions as necessary.
- Attend major manufacturers’ training and events as needed. Some may require travel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of direct experience in architectural design sales.
- Driver’s License.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret complex documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization.
- Proficiency in arithmetic in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Experience with information systems, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
- High-level commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and compliance.
- Ability to sit and talk or hear, work with computers and office equipment; occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
Salary plus commission: base salary range 30,000 to 40,000 annually. May be considered for hybrid setting.
