General Utility Worker
Join our team at the EAST Facility in Pleasant Prairie, WI, as a General Utility Worker. In this role, you will rotate through various areas, including sanitation/pack-off, packing, palletizing, or box making. This is an excellent opportunity to gain versatile skills in a dynamic work environment. Responsibilities Sanitation/Pack-Off: Dispose of extra materials, break down incoming packages, separate trash into appropriate categories, and sanitize machines and containers. Packer: Assist with machine start-ups and disassembly, place finished goods into boxes, inspect goods for defects, and complete necessary paperwork. Palletizer: Inspect cases for proper sealing and labeling, operate pallet jack, assemble and disassemble machinery for sanitation, document findings, and palletize finished boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. Box Maker: Maintain boxes and labels, ensure labeling matches specifications, document material movement, and palletize finished boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. Essential Skills Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs continuously throughout a 10-hour shift Ability to read, write, and speak English 1 year of work history in a relevant field Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in production, general production, packaging, and inspection Why Work Here? After 60 days of employment, you will become a union member and be eligible for benefits. At six months, there is an opportunity to advance to an operator position with a salary increase. Employees receive a 2.5% annual raise each January 1st. Overtime is paid for any hours worked over 8 per shift, and you can earn up to $1,200 a week before taxes. Work Environment This position operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 3:45 pm to 1 am, Monday through Friday, with most Saturdays required. The role involves working 50+ hours a week, up to a maximum of 60 hours. You will work in a GMP Food Production Environment, wearing protective gear including an overcoat, gloves, hardhat, earplugs, safety glasses, and non-slip rubber boots. The production floor is refrigerated, maintaining a temperature of 30-40 degrees. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
