Aerotek
CNC Programmer
This critical role supports mission-critical applications, upholding our reputation for exceptional quality and innovation in low-volume, high-complexity part production. The position involves understanding and applying lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
Set up and operate DMG Mori 5-axis CNC machines to manufacture aerospace-grade and high-temperature alloy components. Create and modify CNC programs using CAM software such as Mastercam, with a strong focus on post-processing for DMG Mori platforms. Interpret and work from complex technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM models to determine optimal machining strategies. Monitor tool paths and machine operation to ensure tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are achieved, especially on exotic and hard-to-machine materials. Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMMs). Troubleshoot machine or program issues independently, making real-time adjustments to improve efficiency and prevent scrap. Maintain detailed records of setups, offsets, tooling changes, and production outputs in compliance with AS9100 and other industry standards. Collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production planning to improve workflows and minimize downtime. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on DMG Mori machines to ensure long-term accuracy and reliability. Essential Skills
35 years of hands-on experience operating and programming DMG Mori 5-axis CNC machines (e.g., DMU, DMC, or NT series). Strong proficiency in G-code, M-code, and machine-specific controls (CELOS or Siemens/Fanuc for DMG Mori). Expertise in interpreting GD&T and complex technical documentation. Proficient in using HyperMill, Mastercam, or similar software for toolpath generation tailored to DMG Mori. Demonstrated ability to machine high-value components with precision and consistency. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Certification in Advanced CNC Machining or DMG Mori OEM training. Knowledge of heat-resistant alloys, superalloys, titanium, Inconel, or similar advanced materials is preferred. Familiarity with quality standards in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments. Why Work Here?
Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, work in a newly renovated facility, and experience a job shop environment with opportunities for overtime. Join a team of 84 employees and take advantage of a 4-10 work schedule (6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday). Work Environment
