Position Description Advertised Job Summary
The department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is looking for a candidate who has the ability to synthesize hybrid materials and organic linkers, perform conductivity measurements, perform spectroscopy measurements, and perform X‑ray diffraction analysis. The candidate should have the ability to analyze data, write papers, and draw graphics.
Minimum Required Education and Experience The candidate should have a PhD in organic chemistry with a very strong background in photophysical measurements which include studies of energy transfer processes, lifetime measurements, and kinetics.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong background in photophysical measurements which include studies of energy transfer processes, lifetime measurements, and kinetics.
Job Duties
Synthetic materials and their characterization through conductivity measurements, X‑ray diffraction analysis and spectroscopic characterization. (60%)
Assists in supervising and training graduate and undergraduate students in their research projects. (20%)
Prepares graphics and contributes to writing proposals and reports on funded projects. (20%)
