About Us Parametric is building robots to reliably automate physical labor in the real world. We've spent the last few months aggressively building our technology and fundraising and are now excited to begin rapidly growing the company.

About The Role As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll own our hardware platform from concept to production. You'll design, prototype, and iterate on the mechanical systems that bring our robots to life. This is an opportunity to shape the physical foundation of our autonomy stack and see your work deployed in the real world. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced startup environment – someone who can move quickly, wear multiple hats, and take full ownership of their work. You'll collaborate closely with electrical, software, and research teams to build robots that perform reliably in demanding conditions. This is a full‑time in‑person role in our San Francisco office. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.

What You’ll Do

Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and components for our robotic platform.

Own the full lifecycle of hardware development from CAD design and prototyping to testing and production.

Select materials, fasteners, and manufacturing processes that balance performance, cost, and reliability.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software components.

Build and test prototypes quickly, iterating based on real‑world feedback.

Work with vendors and manufacturers to bring designs to production.

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in the lab and in the field.

What We’re Looking For

Three or more years of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally in robotics, consumer electronics, or hardware startups.

Strong proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).

Hands‑on experience with prototyping, machining, and fabrication techniques.

Understanding of materials, mechanisms, and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, CNC, injection molding, 3D printing).

Comfortable working in ambiguity and moving fast in a startup environment.

Strong problem‑solving skills and a bias toward action.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
