D1 Training Lakeland is actively seeking a
Combatives Coach (SSC)
to deliver the
BEST workout experience in the industry
to our diverse clientele. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who have firsthand experience with the rigorous demands, strategic thinking, and unwavering dedication of
collegiate wrestling . If you've grappled at a high level, you understand the unique blend of athleticism and mental toughness needed to excel. Our coaches demonstrate a profound passion for training athletes of all ages, from 7 years old to the seasoned adult athlete. As a Combatives Coach, you will lead D1 membership workouts, D1-on-1 sessions, small groups, and team training (with a focus on combat sports, self defense and power development). You'll be instrumental in upholding D1's high coaching standards, adhering to our latest brand guidelines and quality control measures. D1 Coaches play a pivotal role in the evaluation process, assisting with assessments and goal setting to ensure athletes are properly programmed, motivated, and committed to reaching their full potential. The CC will report directly to the Head Speed and Strength Coach (HSSC). Key Skills Required for Position:

Your experience as a collegiate athlete, particularly in a sport like wrestling, provides unique insight into training, developing, and mentoring others. ORGANIZATION:
Your background in structured athletic environments will be invaluable. You need the ability to manage assigned workouts by arriving prepared, starting on time, and maximizing the effort of each member. What This Coach Can Expect:
To join a dynamic team that understands how to
WORK & PLAY hard , much like a championship-caliber team. To conduct and lead member workouts (small and large group, 1-on-1, team training, and various other offerings), fostering a positive and motivating environment for all athletes, drawing on your own experience in competitive settings. To significantly reduce an athlete's risk of injury by focusing on proper technique and movement patterns, applying the biomechanical understanding gained through your own athletic career. Coach Training Activities & Duties:
You will lead training activities with an emphasis on providing the
BEST workout experience . Your duties include: Demonstrating an expert understanding of D1 programming and how to adapt it for individual athletes, especially those with diverse athletic backgrounds. Connecting deeply with members, understanding their specific goals, and leveraging your own journey to inspire them. Qualifications:
Collegiate wrestling experience is strongly preferred and will be highly valued in lieu of or in addition to other athletic backgrounds. Experience in Jiu-Jitsu or other grappling arts is a significant plus. Demonstrated experience in strength and conditioning programming and coaching is highly desirable. Benefits/Perks:
Continuing education through company-sanctioned events. Free membership in a state-of-the-art facility. Flexible Schedule. Compensation: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour
