Direct Sales Agent Specialist (2846) – Direct Auto
Direct Auto Insurance, a part of the Allstate Corporation, offers a range of auto, life, auto‑club, and roadside‑assistance products through a large network of independent insurance agents and directly to consumers.
Job Description The Direct Sales Agent Specialist is responsible for profitable growth and the attainment of business goals by driving new business sales and understanding customers’ needs to build rapport and trust. The position drives sales, builds and retains a book of business within the market/retail location, attracts and generates new customers, and cross‑sells existing customers. The role sells to walk‑in customers, markets products outside the office via marketing calls and in‑person visits, creates community relationships, and assists customers in the office.
Responsibilities
Generate new business sales and build customer relationships.
Cross‑sell and retain customers across multiple product lines.
Conduct outbound calling to an established target customer base.
Monitor local market competitors and provide improvement suggestions.
Work with Direct Sales Leadership to plan and manage marketing and sales processes.
Deliver results within metrics such as quality, quantity, timeliness, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
Receive customer payments, issue receipts, and verify reports for cash drawers.
Minimum Qualifications
0 – 2 years of experience.
P&C licensing (Preferred) or must attain required licensure within 90 days of joining the company.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
Successfully closes sales of insurance and ancillary products.
Meets and exceeds sales goals through new product sales, cross‑sell/retention of customers.
Leverages community contacts to build a sales pipeline and an active physical presence in the community.
Initiates outbound calling to an established target customer base for product offerings.
Monitors key competitors in the local market area and makes suggestions on initiatives that could improve the company’s position.
Works with Direct Sales Leadership to plan, implement, and manage marketing and sales processes.
Delivers optimal results within metrics, including compliance with rules, procedures, and standards.
Understands, promotes, and remains current on company underwriting guidelines, announcements, and memos.
Receives customer payments, issues receipts, and verifies reports for cash drawers.
Compensation Unlicensed Candidates
Base compensation: $17.50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Licensed Candidates (Licensed to sell Auto or P&C Insurance)
Base compensation: $20.00 per hour, based on active required license and minimum 6 months of P&C sales experience.
In addition to the base hourly rate, total compensation may include incentive pay such as commissions and bonuses, based on individual and team performance.
