The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. Summary The Sales Specialist is a key player on the sales team. This role requires a driven individual with strong business acumen, excellent communication, relationship-building skills, and a passion for growth. Responsibilities include finding leads, negotiating deals, developing proposals, presenting, and closing deals within financial EBITDA metrics/targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare detailed sales plans using a 'good, better, best' approach for prospects, utilizing sales materials, pitch books, presentation templates, and add-on services to facilitate sales conversations.
Identify prospect needs, providing economical solutions that demonstrate value, satisfy the prospect, and meet sales and financial objectives.
Report sales activities and key performance metrics regularly.
Establish relationships with new business opportunities in existing and target growth markets.
Prepare annual budgets and growth plans for the assigned region.
Maintain a strong sales pipeline in Salesforce, effectively moving opportunities through each sales phase.
Communicate ongoing activity with leads, opportunities, proposals, and anticipated closings; keep management informed of competitive initiatives and challenges.
Overcome objections through critical thinking to successfully complete negotiations.
Attend tradeshows and conferences to find leads and grow the opportunity pipeline.
Transition new accounts to the Area Account Manager for onboarding and ongoing management.
Obtain customer financials for credit applications via Salesforce.
Create initial economic models to estimate customer volume/margin based on contract criteria: EBITDA, IRR, CPG, Volume, Leverage, and Coverage.
Review and approve contract offers in line with marketplace standards to avoid conflicts with existing customers.
Develop and present professional proposals for prospective accounts, working with Supply, Trading, and Operations to develop contracts.
Act as a business consultant with industry and market knowledge.
Utilize technology platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Right Angle, Concur) for all sales phases.
Represent Sunoco LP with credibility and integrity, communicating its growth strategy effectively.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of experience.
Willingness to travel 50-75%, including overnight stays.
Experience in sales, with 5-8 years required.
Additional Notes
Experience level varies: 2-5 years for Specialist/Analyst, 5-8 for Senior, 8+ for Lead.
Work conditions include sitting for extended periods and occasional visits to industrial settings requiring PPE.
Senior level: Mid-Senior; Employment type: Full-time; Industry: Oil and Gas.
