Compensation Base salary: $19.23–$43.26 per hour ($40,000–$90,000 per year) or $19.23–$52.88 per hour ($40,000–$110,000 per year) for tenured positions, depending on experience, education, skills, certifications, and business needs.
Commission: 50%–150% of one month’s MRCs (monthly recurring charges), 1/12 of one‑time NRCs (non‑recurring charges), and 1/24 of burst.
Responsibilities
Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory by sourcing and hunting across global sales territories; target segments include IP Transit, content creators/hosters, carriers/wholesalers, and netcentric companies.
Directly call, email, and contact prospects to qualify and generate new business opportunities with key decision makers.
Complement prospecting and selling efforts with onsite customer meetings as needed.
Use consultative and relationship‑building techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
Position Cogent’s services by leveraging the global network footprint, including commercial and retail buildings, carrier‑neutral hotels, data centers, and colocation facilities.
Qualifications
3–8+ years of solid B2B sales experience in telecom, including collocation, wholesale, data transit, and transport.
Proven direct hunting record with quota achievement.
Strong prospecting and research skills to identify, qualify, and generate new business.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced team environment with revenue deadlines.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems is a plus.
College degree preferred but not required.
Work Environment This is an in‑office position five days a week to provide focused mentorship, training, and personal coaching.
