Account Specialist (Commercial Lines/Energy)
IMA Account Specialists play a key strategic role on our property and casualty service teams, partnering closely with clients and carriers. We are looking for an experienced insurance professional to join our Commercial Lines/Energy team based in Dallas.
What You’ll Do
Support and demonstrate IMA’s core values.
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates.
Assist the Account Manager & Account Executive on large and complex client accounts by preparing coverage comparisons, submissions, premium & rate analyses, and auditing expired or non‑renewed policies.
Interact with clients (written or verbal) regarding special program needs and new assignments.
Understand and deliver client expectations within your book of business.
Temporarily back up Account Managers as needed to ensure seamless service.
Problem‑solve and suggest proactive solutions to Account Managers and Account Executives.
Perform loss analysis and related tasks such as invoicing, trending, tracking, and reconciliation.
Manage special client requests, including allocation spreadsheets for specific lines of coverage or all lines, based on entity, location, or ownership.
Use the AMS to maintain detailed account information (upload policies, input large schedules, driver lists, etc.).
Control industry‑specific reporting (well reporting, builder’s risk, etc.).
Review certificate of insurance requests and guide COE on invoicing allocations, surplus lines, policy processing, master COIs, and client‑specific instructions for customized ID cards, billings, etc.
Support endorsement processing & billing, review notices of cancellation, analyze loss data within Experience Mods, conduct deductible analysis, and participate in internal review meetings as requested.
Work independently and lead special client projects.
Provide support on special client assignments as needed.
You Should Have
Relevant experience in specialty insurance; specialty experience preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain data completeness within AMS.
Successfully achieved a general insurance designation; pursuit of additional insurance designations preferred.
Strong project and time‑management skills to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel).
