Division:
ITW StampTech Fasteners Division serves major OEMs and Tier suppliers in the North American automotive market with stamped metal fasteners and engineered assemblies. Annual revenue about $170M. Locations include Gallatin, TN; Lexington, KY; Naugatuck, CT.
Position Summary:
The Account Manager reports to the Sales Manager and is responsible for building relationships and executing sales and marketing strategies for Lever 2 OEMs (Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Tesla, Hyundai). The role demands hunter mentality, technical familiarity with engineering teams, and strong collaboration across global sales, engineering, and manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities
Establish customer penetration goals with Sales and Market Managers to grow core products.
Leverage market knowledge to grow products and introduce new ones using an “outside‑in” approach.
Nurture customer relationships and provide insight into competitive advantages.
Conduct comprehensive market research aligned with strategic growth priorities.
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities with Lever 2 customers.
Coordinate projects, strategic planning, relationship building, negotiation, and innovative development of opportunities.
Resolve conflicts with clients and support problem resolution, product understanding, and follow‑up tasks.
Work directly with customer engineering and purchasing to sell product, including parts searches, engineering interaction, test data requests, price negotiation, and PO sign‑off.
Report on competitors and market trends to target new business.
Achieve sales targets supporting the division’s market penetration and growth.
Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations.
Conduct regular account reviews to evaluate product and price satisfaction and organization objectives.
Demonstrate personal effectiveness and leadership that creates a culture of high performance.
Meet internal and external deadlines.
Apply ITW innovation strategies using the ITW Toolbox.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Position Skills & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Engineering background is a plus.
Minimum 5 years automotive industry experience.
Experience with Lever 2 customers and proven product knowledge (fastener knowledge a plus).
Proven record of sales growth and ability to develop sales forecasts and business plans.
Ability to adapt to changes in business environment.
Adherence to ITW Employee Development & Leadership model.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Japanese/Korean language skills are a plus.
Willingness to travel mainly domestic and occasionally worldwide.
