Location:

Phoenix, AZ (will also consider alternate locations that align with the US Navy customer footprint, such as San Diego, CA; Newport News, VA; and Washington D.C.)

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Account Manager to lead strategic customer engagements within the maritime sector, specifically supporting U.S. Navy and OEM clients. This role is ideal for a former U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer or Submariner with a deep understanding of shipboard and/or submarine systems. As the primary customer advocate within Honeywell, the Principal Account Manager will identify and align customer needs with Honeywell’s products and capabilities, driving business growth and operational excellence. This role will report directly to the Director, Navy and Marine Corps business at Honeywell.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned Navy, Government, and Defense customers.

Drive business growth, program execution, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

Develop and implement strategic growth plans tailored to customer needs.

Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Strategic Plan (STRAP) objectives.

Ensure accurate forecasting for short‑range outlooks, demand planning, and financial performance.

Monitor and manage profitability, win rates, and working capital.

Foster a culture of accountability and ownership across integrated product teams.

Collaborate with Sales, Technical Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Advanced Technology, and Government Relations to execute growth initiatives.

Guide proposal development and approval processes in coordination with Proposal Managers and functional stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with cost, schedule, scope, and IPDS standards using matrixed pursuit teams.

Support decision‑making in marketing, pricing, contracting, and execution of new business opportunities.

Maintain strong working relationships across Engineering, ISC, Finance, Pricing, Contracts, and Customer Support.

Qualifications:

U.S. citizenship required; ability to travel up to 25%.

Prior experience with Navy programs or defense customers preferred.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, material planning, procurement, and SAP.

Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel; Salesforce experience is a plus.

Excellent communication, presentation, and decision‑making skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and build lasting customer relationships.
