The Martin Structures Inc. (MSI) Building Sales Specialist is a sales position focused on selling our barndominiums, custom homes, garages, storage structures to new clients. You will guide clients through the buying journey, from the initial point of contact to the completion of the build process, reflecting MSI’s dedication to quality craftsmanship and delivering an exceptional 5-star customer experience. This role is instrumental in driving revenue growth by leveraging the company’s unique selling points centered on customization flexibility, premium materials, exceptional customer service, quality craftmanship and local expertise.
The Building Sales Specialist role also serves as the primary relationship owner of establishing strong referral partner networks. The focus is to expand our network of referral partners and drive lead generation for barndominiums, custom homes, garages, storage structures construction projects. Cultivating relationships will be with key professionals and organizations, creating mutually beneficial partnerships that generate high-quality leads while building Martin Structures’ brand as the premier builder in Mid-Missouri.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Client Acquisition: Generate leads through direct outreach, networking events, and online inquiries. Identify, engage, and nurture relationships with first-time homebuyers, families upgrading, and retirees seeking barndominiums, custom homes, garages, storage structures. Educate potential clients on Martin Structures’ offerings and value propositions, emphasizing customization and superior craftsmanship. Referral Partner Development : Build and maintain a referral network of real estate agents, lenders, and other community influencers. Host exhibits, educational sessions and networking events to promote Martin Structures to potential partners. Develop referral incentives to encourage ongoing partnerships. Sales Strategy Execution: Use a consultative sales approach to understand client needs and present tailored solutions. Provide accurate quotes and financing options in collaboration with the internal team. Leverage the company’s Google reviews and testimonials to build trust and confidence. Customer Relationship Management: Guide clients through the sales and design process with clear communication, ensuring they feel supported from inquiry to construction. Proactively address client concerns and ensure expectations align with project timelines and deliverables. Maintain a consistent follow-up schedule with prospective and current clients to nurture long-term relationships. Market Analysis & Reporting: Stay informed about competitors, market trends, and client needs in the Mid-Missouri region. Provide feedback to leadership on sales strategies, customer preferences, and competitive positioning. Qualifications Experience: Required 5 years’ experience in the home building construction industry. Minimum 3 years of sales experience, preferably in real estate, construction, or a related field. Proven track record in building and maintaining referral networks. Preferred experience with blueprint design software. (e.g. Chief Architect and Sketch-Up platforms) Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish trust quickly. Consultative sales approach with a customer-first mindset. Ability to manage multiple client relationships while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Other Requirements : Familiarity with homebuilding processes and an understanding of Mid-Missouri’s market is a plus. Knowledge of county and state building codes for building construction. Must pass background check and drug screening. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the service area.
