Maintenance Lead – 1st Shift – Abilene, KS Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Mfg, is currently seeking a

Maintenance Lead

for our facility in Abilene, KS.

This position works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some on-call duties as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work with other maintenance employees to ensure they are up to date on scheduled preventative maintenance work and that work orders are completed by the due date.

Assign new work requests as they come in to ensure the right employee is dispatched based on skill and work load.

Place orders for spare parts as needed and reconcile packing lists with Accounts Payable.

Supervise employees to ensure compliance with production and quality standards for completing work.

Utilize Manager Plus software to monitor work orders, input inventory, setup new assets, build and implement maintenance schedules for equipment.

Interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met.

Maintain time records for their team in ADP. Complete performance evaluations for approval by department manager.

Schedule on-call employees for each weekend and publicizes schedule and contact information to all department managers.

Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

Maintain a productive and respectful relationship with employees and coworkersli>

Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations with team.

Assist in training new maintenance employees and provide performance feedback to develop their skills.

Perform maintenance activities along with employees supervised.

Follow all Great Plains Mfg policies and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.

Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

2-3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician

Supervisor or manager experience helpful, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Proficient in using Manager Plus software to monitor work orders, input inventory, setup new assets, build and implement maintenance schedules for equipment

Strong mechanical aptitude; familiarity with manufacturing equipment helpful

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, etc.

Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities and deadlines
