Mechanical Inspector – Flux Resources (Contract, Arlington, TX)
Contract opportunity paying $48 per hour.
Responsibilities
Inspect mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards.
Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications.
Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, confirming proper functionality and performance.
Identify and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions.
Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance.
Immediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life‑threatening safety conditions.
Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality control and compliance tracking.
Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts.
Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start‑ups.
Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications.
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS in Construction, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of related experience (or equivalent education/experience).
2 years of experience in construction inspection.
Preferred Requirements
Experience working on federally managed construction projects.
Experience in reviewing contractor shop drawings and submittals.
Experience working in and around historic properties.
OSHA 10‑hour training certification.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Experience working with federal Project Management Systems.
