Fann Contracting, Inc., Northern Arizona’s leading heavy-civil and heavy-highway contractor, is searching for an experienced Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to join our team! The successful candidate will have a

minimum of 5 year’s of hands‑on experience working on both Cat and John Deere construction equipment.

This is a full‑time shop position in our Prescott, AZ headquarters ( no travel required ) that pays between

$36.65 to $40.40 per hour.

Our family‑owned 60‑year company specializes in mass excavation, rock handling, underground utilities, private and public infrastructure, asphalt paving, aggregate crushing, asphalt hot plant production, and much more. Our projects include public and private entities including ADOT, FHWA, BIA, city and county municipalities, private residential and commercial developments. We have one of the largest heavy equipment and trucking fleets in Northern Arizona coupled with the most experienced support staff. Our full‑service equipment maintenance department works diligently to maintain our heavy equipment so projects can stay on track with minimal interruption from equipment downtime.

The job description for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic will include some aspects of an Equipment Operator because you must understand how to operate the machinery you service, repair and/or maintain. This includes, but is not limited to:

Motor Graders Excavators Loaders Pavers Rollers Milling Machines Backhoes (John Deere and Cat)

Our Heavy Equipment Mechanics perform diagnostic tests, routine maintenance and large‑scale repair procedures on our entire fleet of heavy equipment. These mechanics are essential to the safety and growth of our company. Do you have experience in the following?

Welding, cutting and braising Hydraulic systems Electrical diagnostics Air‑conditioning Preventive maintenance

Minimum Basic Requirements:

Must have your own tools. Must have a

minimum

of 5 years heavy equipment repair experience (recent/current) Some schedule flexibility needed; occasional nights and/or weekends. Must be a safety minded self‑motivated/self‑starter. Must be physically capable of performing the duties – please request a job description. Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug test and abide by our Drug and Alcohol Policy.
