This is a FlexSteel position and is located in Baytown, TX. SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Materials Supervisor, loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual in thisposition must use initiative and judgment to arrange job details and achieve predetermined objectives. Unload incoming shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks
Match items to purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices
Enter receipts into inventory or ERP systems
Label and route received items to the appropriate departments
Pick, pack, and stage outgoing orders
Create shipping labels, bills of lading, and other paperwork
Verify items against sales or shipping orders
Ensure proper packaging to prevent damage in transit
Load shipments onto trucks or railcars, ensuring secure placement
Maintain accurate stock levels through data entry
Track and record movement of materials in and out of the warehouse
Help organize and maintain storage and staging areas
Alert supervisors to low stock or inventory discrepancies
Use inventory, WMS, or ERP systems
Maintain shipping and receiving logs
Process returns, RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations), and restocks
Communicate with purchasing, sales, and logistics teams
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards
Keep shipping and receiving areas clean and hazard-free
Liaise with carriers, drivers, and delivery personnel
Resolve shipping issues (missed pickups, incorrect deliveries)
Coordinate with internal departments on urgent orders or special shipments
Other duties as assigned.

The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least one (1) year of relevant experience in a forward-thinking manufacturing environment is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must possess the ability to read and understand load Sheets, locations, and differentiate between similar parts.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Must have the ability to work effectively with company personnel and customers.
Must be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must have regular attendance on the job.
Must be able to operate and certify for an industrial forklift truck or electric hoist up to 55k.
