Qualifications
Read and write English, interact with the general public and co‑workers.
Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
Write simple correspondence.
Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Basic PC/Outlook skills (extra awesome).
Retail Management Certificate (extra awesome).
Opportunities The Service Clerk reports to the Store Manager/Senior Assistant Manager and is responsible for:
Maintaining carts, assisting customers with purchases and assistance to their cars as requested, checking prices on products, returning merchandise to store shelves, parking lot and store maintenance.
Collecting and organizing shopping carts within the store and retrieving carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas.
Assisting customers with loading merchandise into shopping carts and vehicles.
Checking retail prices on shelves for check‑stand personnel.
Pulling merchandise from check stand (“go backs”) and returning it to the proper shelf; walking aisles and returning misplaced items to their proper location; faced merchandise on aisles as needed.
Monitoring the cleanliness of the store entrance: sweeping front area inside and outside, picking up and emptying trash regularly, mopping outside walkways and cleaning entrance/exit doors daily.
Monitoring the cleanliness of the store throughout the day: sweeping, mopping, cleaning and restocking restrooms as needed.
