Description
The mission of the Mercedes-Benz Manhattan Parts Consultant Shop Counter is to properly serve our Service Technicians’ parts needs.
The Parts Consultant is an expert in the Mercedes-Benz Electronic Parts Catalog in use and knowledge. The Parts Consultant Shop Counter is capable of collaborating with the Service Technicians intelligently, with detail and clarity, both in person and in e-mail.
Responsibilities The Mercedes-Benz Manhattan Parts Consultant Shop Counter must provide consistently outstanding brand and customer experience through constant preparation, positive attitude, excellent troubleshooting skills and teamwork with our Service Technicians.
Extensive working knowledge of the M-B EPC, other Xentry and Paragon systems.
Manage technician or Shop Foreman requests to ensure proper parts selection accurately and efficiently.
Strong ability to troubleshoot parts technical issues.
Ensure parts order lines on ROs are filled and billed out correctly.
Confirm all necessary paperwork for TRP and other Special Orders are handled accurately and efficiently.
Accurately complete entry and relief of sales from inventory.
Assist with parts inventory audits.
Assist with parts selection for obsolescence returns.
Assist with the proper storage of all received parts.
Assist in updating bin locations as required.
Collaborate with other parts team members on department efficiencies.
Locating back ordered parts from other M-B dealerships, if necessary.
Attend training sessions on new products and product updates.
Ability to work independently.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
The pay rate is $23 per hour -$27 per hour. There is a strong commission component to this position.
Qualifications
High School or technical trade school diploma minimum.
3 years minimum of spare parts operational or wholesale parts experience with M-B dealership.
3 years minimum of in-depth M-B parts technical experience.
Working knowledge of Remstar inventory machines.
Working knowledge of CDK or other automotive DMS necessary.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, pivot, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Willingness to work in a positive, high-energy collaborative environment.
Ability to withstand physical demands of the job – lifting parts, sitting on computer for extended amounts of time, walking.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Ability to commute into and out of Manhattan daily and on time.
