The Consumer Sales Representative – Retail is a key contributor to TDS’s overall consumer strategy to grow, delight, and retain our customers. The role focuses on increasing revenue and achieving sales goals through exceptional customer service. The representative handles walk‑in customers in retail stores and inbound customer calls when no one is in the office. This position is the primary point of contact for consumer customers inquiring about products and services, owning a thorough understanding of all consumer products and services offered, and staying current on pricing, procedures, promotions, tools, and systems used to place orders, update billing, and maintain customer records. In addition to base pay, the representative is assigned monthly sales goals for key strategic products such as Voice, High Speed Data, TV, Mobile, and Strategic product sales, and must meet these goals while maintaining customer service quality expectations for commission incentive programs. Responsibilities

Deliver sales and retention results by exceeding or meeting monthly sales goals through face‑to‑face and phone interactions, using negotiation and interpersonal skills to prevent churn and promote services. Handle billing, seasonal service requests, toll inquiries, and other miscellaneous inquiries while consulting customers to identify technology needs and offer appropriate TDS product solutions. Follow cash management procedures to ensure accurate handling of all cash and payment transactions. Resolve construction‑related issues in specific markets by creating and closing triage tickets. Stay current with promotions, products, and technology to exceed sales and retention goals; maintain regular attendance and punctuality to support customer needs. Perform retail office responsibilities such as restocking supplies, securing the office, maintaining cleanliness, participating in community events, and coordinating space use with other departments. Complete special projects assigned by the supervisor. Required Qualifications

1+ year of experience in a sales or customer service role. 2+ years computer experience (including order applications, Microsoft Outlook, Word, or Excel). Ability to follow TDS attendance guidelines to meet business needs. Other Qualifications

Minimum 6 months experience managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Experience working with detailed data. Ability to meet or exceed sales goals. Strong negotiation, selling, and closing skills in reselling service to customers requesting disconnect. Ability to handle a high volume of phone calls in a structured contact center environment. Understanding of the telecommunications industry and its products and services. Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written, listening). Problem‑solving skills for customer complaints and competitive issues. Successful completion of classroom training will be required. Demonstrated success in a competitive sales environment. Willingness to work overtime with advance notice. Availability to work shifts ending at 8:00 p.m. CST and potential Saturday rotation. Experience resolving escalated customer issues both over the phone and face to face. Benefits

The listed pay range reflects the minimum and maximum base compensation for this position. The base pay rate offered is expected to be $21.03 per hour. In addition, certain positions may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses, commissions, or equity awards. Pay Range (Hourly) : $17.66 – $26.48
