Responsibilities
Assist the Construction Manager with all facets of project execution
Observe field activities for general conformance to the contract documents
Proactively partner with the General Contractor and Construction Management team to coordinate field issues
Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities
Conduct inspection of electrical, structural, mechanical/HVAC, I&C, and site civil construction activities
Collaborate with other field representatives
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses
Review submittals for conformance with technical specifications
Participate in required construction meetings
Actively participate in the start‑up and troubleshooting of new facilities
Develop relationships with client personnel to further HDR’s objectives of maintaining outstanding client service
Coordinate with design team members in HDR offices to obtain input to support on‑going construction activities
Perform other construction management as required
Preferred Qualifications
Technical school or college degree
Relevant Industry Certifications
Ability to interpret construction schedules
At least two years of construction experience in the water/wastewater field
Knowledge of CAD software programs, scheduling software, and project management software (Newforma)
Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
A minimum of 3 years experience
Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Proven problem‑solving and documentation abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
