Job Overview The Mechanical Engineer 2 works on moderately complex electro-mechanical product development projects. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Independently design and improve mechanical assemblies and components.

Perform basic thermal and stress analysis using analytical and simulation tools.

Develop and execute component-level test plans and validation reports.

Contribute to new product development within a stage-gate framework.

Support manufacturing by working with suppliers, quality, and production teams.

Apply GD&T and conduct tolerance stack‑up analysis.

Assist with the creation of documentation for design reviews and regulatory compliance.

Experience and Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

2–5 years of experience with electro-mechanical product design.

Required skills

Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and mechanical drawings (SolidWorks preferred).

Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.

Strong understanding of mechanical system design and material properties.

Ability to conduct engineering calculations for thermal, structural, and dynamic behavior.

Experience with cross‑functional project collaboration.

Technical writing and presentation skills.

Preferred skills

Familiarity with FEA (mechanical and thermal), CFD, or simulation software.

Experience with motion control systems or automation.

Understanding of statistical tools and data analysis (e.g., Minitab, Excel, MATLAB).

Knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and cost optimization.

Exposure to ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 environments.
