Position Overview: The Cloud Architect will specialize in designing, deploying, and managing hybrid cloud environments—environments that combine on-premises infrastructure (private cloud or traditional data centers) with public cloud platforms.
Responsibilities:
Provide engineering and technical direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation to include designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions that support mission system and multiple customers.
Design scalable and secure cloud solutions that align with DoD requirements.
Ensure computing environments meet existing security requirements.
Work matrixed with developers, administrators, and network engineers to optimize workflows.
Deploy and manage virtual networks, computing resources, and cloud-based storage.
Implement automation and optimization tools in a multi-cloud environment utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks associated with data solutions.
Advise leadership and customers on cloud strategies, tools, and best practices.
Develop solutions architectures and evaluate architectural alternatives for hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
Qualifications:
7 years of directly related experience in technical architecture and design in complex IT environments.
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related degree.
Knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, scalability).
AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect.
CISSP or CASP+.
Experience with Secure Cloud Computing Architecture.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
Agile development experience and leadership with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Experience with virtualization tools such as VMWare, OpenShift.
Certification Requirements:
Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current IAT Level II Certification.
Security Requirements:
Must be able to obtain an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
