R1537Location:Samaritan Medical CenterDepartment:01.6880 SMC WOUND CARE PROGRAMPay Range:$35.47 - $58.53Care for our community, and your career.The RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients in the Wound Care Center. Renders professional care in accordance with the physician treatment plan and the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. He/She is a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served. He/She ensures that compassionate, engaged care meets or exceeds quality standards. Care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the NY licensure and SHS standard of care. Utilizes nursing skills to determine the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self care, cultural, ethnic and spiritual and educational needs of the patient/family/significant other to develop, implement the plan of care. In doing so, performs accurate assessments, interprets and correlates finding, establishes plan of care and implements appropriate short term goals. The nurse observes patient progress,records pertinent observations, implements provider and nursing treatment plans and evaluates outcomes.Job RequirementsMinimum Education Requirement :Graduate of a school of Nursing.Minimum Experience Requirement :Wound Care Certification preferred. Medical Surgical, home health, or wound care, also preferred.

Demonstrates active committee participation and leadership. Organizational ability. Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and management/leadership skills. Must possess and demonstrate knowledge of the growth and development and means to provide appropriate care to the varied age groups, pediatric to geriatric, to whom health care is provided.Minimum License Requirement :Current NY RN license.
