EHS Specialist

Assists in executing and facilitating Advanced Energy’s environmental, health and safety program portfolio with the goal of eliminating injuries and incidents, preventing property loss, and minimizing impact to human health and the environment. Responsible for ensuring employee awareness of programs, training, and overall compliance.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in execution of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs.
Implement actions so Advanced Energy comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, and standards through implementation of control measures.
Perform hazard and environmental impact assessments and audits with business leaders and prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards or impacts.
Maintain the chemical inventory list and ensure the SDS library database is up to date.
Assist business partners with reporting incidents and near misses, incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
Steward and facilitate emergency action plans.
Utilize EHS data management system (Velocity EHS) for collecting incident, hazard, inspection, chemical SDS and sustainability data
Assist in maintaining EHS management system (ISO14001 and ISO45001).
Perform tasks to ensure compliance with legal and internal requirements.
Participate in the execution of tasks for the development of defined campaigns.
Train staff in accordance with legal and internal requirements.
Support audits, inspections, and visits from stakeholders.
Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Time is divided between office and production environments.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, and talking for extended periods of time and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Effective communication
Electrical safety and NFPA 70e
Emergency response
Ergonomics: office and manual materials handling
Fall protection
Hazard identification, risk assessment and control
Hierarchy of controls
Incident investigations
Industrial hygiene
ISO 45001 and 14001
Key performance indicators & incident trending
Controlling hazardous energy and lockout tagout

Powered industrial trucks

Training- creating content and effective presentation skills
Detail-oriented
Self-directed with strong organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to influence without formal authority
Ability to locate, interpret, and implement regulatory and consensus standards
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications and other common computer tools
EXPERIENCE
More than 3 years’ experience in related fields such as safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and hazardous waste management.
Experience in manufacturing desired.
EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health, industrial hygiene, physical sciences, or engineering
