Mechanical Engineer II As a Mechanical Engineer II you will perform engineering tasks under moderate guidance that are varied and moderately difficult, which require troubleshooting and interpretation of data, development of new test methods or procedures and are used for a variety of situations. Assists in the development, execution, and organization of detailed design development as part of major projects with a moderate scope.

Responsibilities

Conducts and/or specifies moderately complex tests using techniques to resolve customer concerns/problems; prepares technical reports based on results

Applies advanced computer-aided engineering analysis techniques to resolve customer concerns/problems

Adheres to new product development processes as it relates to concept analysis, business case, product development, pre-production and post launch steps; recommends methods of manufacture during the design of new products and design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies

Modifies analysis techniques when necessary to solve more complex problems

Evaluates product failures using standard engineering techniques

Compiles and analyzes test results; formulates conclusions and makes appropriate recommendations

Provides liaison support between the engineering department and manufacturing

Supports supplier selection and interaction

Recommends improvements and/or modifications for sequence of operations, equipment utilization and related matters

Contributes to the development of engineering test standards where applicable

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures and other internal engineering standards and systems

Knowledge of engineering systems

Knowledge of company and competitor's products and technical abilities of suppliers

Well-developed understanding of company processes and procedures including, but not limited to new product development process

Strong interpersonal skills

Well-developed written communication skills necessary for technical report writing

Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related Field

Three years of professional engineering experience

May require travel of a scheduled or urgent nature to review applications, discuss problems, visit suppliers/customers, trade shows, etc.
