Description
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of production and processing equipment while striving to ensure work is performed to company and customer standards with considerations to business strategy, costs, and timing.
Responsibilities
Provide robust mechanical design of equipment and components using SolidWorks Prepare detailed drawings and bill of materials for the fabrication and assembly of equipment Prepare detailed floor layouts and facilities requirements Provide FEA analysis of assemblies and sub-components Provide analysis of automation components including drive systems Develop enterprise business systems strategies (ERP, PDM, etc.) Interface with manufacturing to support product assembly, testing, troubleshooting, installation and operations Interface with project management and/or lead projects to ensure projects meet schedule and delivery requirements Prepare and participate in internal requirement, concept, and design reviews Collaborate to develop innovative solutions Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Effective written and verbal communication Skilled at 3D modeling and detail drawing (SolidWorks preferred) Strong proficiency in Autocad desired Strong proficiency in MicroSoft Excel desired Ability to perform mechanical analysis using FEA and hand calculations Knowledge of manufacturing techniques including machining, sheet metal, and welding fabrication Excellent time management skills Ability to work with cross functional groups and take lead when necessary Adaptable to rapidly changing environment Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
