$26.00–$27.00 per hour ($54,080–$56,160 per year)

About the Role The Revenue Recovery Specialist monitors, analyzes, and appeals outpatient claim payment variances for behavioral healthcare cases, optimizing revenue recovery, ensuring payer agreement compliance, and communicating reimbursement issues to management.

Key Responsibilities

Use internal data and systems to research delinquent or underpayment accounts, document them, and track & summarize payment variances to determine appropriate actions.

Document appeals of payment variances and reimbursement amounts recovered.

Develop knowledge of payer regulations or requirements, including Single Case Agreements (SCAs), third‑party payer regulations, payment agreements, coverage & benefit plans, and other conditions afflicting payment.

Analyze internal processes, technical system issues, and payer processing/system issues; determine & communicate corrective actions to resolve payment variances.

Perform special projects to resolve recovery issues, settle with payors, and optimize revenue recovery.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related finance area (or equivalent education & experience).

3+ years in business, insurance, or managed care industry settling patient accounts; experience in utilization management, case management, or hospital audit & reimbursement is preferred.

Experience with health‑related agreements involving rate & language analysis, audit, reimbursement, claims denial, and appeals.

Knowledge or willingness to learn CPT/HCPCS, ICD‑10, and DRG fundamentals.

Willingness to submit to drug and background screenings.
