FAR INSPECTIONS, Breckenridge, Minnesota, United States, 56520
Overview
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years. What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and, to do this, they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant. This role contracts inspectors at a county level. You would be responsible for completing all inspections in your county. In some cases, you may split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors. Responsibilities
Complete inspections (most are 5-6 minutes for the common type). Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned. Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards. Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments. Complete a short form in an app. Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops within the assigned territory. Qualifications
Computer with an internet connection Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus) Smartphone (Android or iPhone) Printer Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license Pay and Hours
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour, though you are paid per inspection. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you will complete anywhere from 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set minimum number of inspections per month, but work is consistent month to month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
