Job Description ResEcon’s Financial Advisory Services ("FAS") is looking for a Business Development ("BD") Associate to join our team! The BD Associate is responsible for providing daily support to the Business Development Team and assigned practice groups. The BD Associate conducts market research and collaborates with partners to identify potential new clients and works closely with staff to implement agreed‑upon growth strategies. They will assist in developing business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference materials, and other outreach documents as needed and identify new business opportunities and partners through their research. The BD Associate will coordinate, schedule, and maintain weekly partner client meetings and ensure consistent follow‑up and tracking. Additionally, the BD Associate will engage with Legal Bar Associations, build relationships within the legal community, represent the firm at conferences, and manage the firm’s presence at industry events. The BD Associate will also develop expertise in Salesforce CRM, online marketing platforms, newsletter tools, and other business development technologies.
We have an immediate opening for a Business Development Associate. This position is on site in our New York, NY office.
Salary Scale The Business Development Associate is paid an annual salary between $75,000 and $90,000, subject to all required deductions and withholdings, and not including the value of benefits under any ResEcon‑maintained benefit plans. The position is classified as exempt from overtime pay requirements under applicable federal and state law.
Primary Responsibilities
Stay up‑to‑date with marketing and brand content, sales messaging, and service offerings
Assist in the preparation of newsletters, proposals, presentations, and other sales materials via multiple platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint
Closely liaise with partners, professional service staff, and business development team members to draft and tailor proposal responses
Manage outreach and coordinate scheduling for partners and other professional services staff to book lunches, meetings, trade shows and other business development initiatives with priority clients
Track and maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of client interactions in the CRM system
Analyze market research and data to identify industry trends, market conditions, competitor activities, key decision‑makers in target industries, best practices and areas for improvement
Utilize various channels, including online research, social media platforms, conferences and networking events, to generate new leads and potential clients
Collaborate with sales team to develop and implement strategies for achieving sales targets
Initiate contact with potential clients and manage tracking databases
Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned and as needed
Job Qualifications Skills and Abilities
Excellent client service orientation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and maintain effective relationships with various levels within the firm
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Must be a self‑starter and driven
Strong time‑management skills and ability to prioritize
Proven ability to maintain multiple tasks and projects in a timely manner
High level of professionalism and strong written and verbal communication skills
Extremely reliable and consistent
Discretion and good judgement (particularly with sensitive or confidential information)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint) and Google products
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree
1–3+ years of experience in business development, marketing, sales or related roles
Experience in a finance, litigation or consulting environment is a plus
Experience with Salesforce and other CRM and marketing software a plus
