Primary Purpose of the Purchasing Analyst position:

Responsible for leading and managing the purchasing team and related processes that facilitate effective teamwork and communication across the company, promote competitive pricing, sustainable vendor relationships, and enable operational efficiency for the company.

Specific Job Duties:

Support and enforce safety policy and lead by example to promote safe work habits and continually improve safety culture

Promote company values, enforce company policies, and ensure compliance with company procedures

Manage material purchases in a manner that supports project completion schedules while minimizing work in progress inventory

Effectively negotiate with vendors to secure the best overall value.

Work efficiently with new technologies and adapt to evolving processes.

Guide the development and management of internal processes that facilitate value-based purchasing and operational efficiency

Maintain and distribute relevant purchasing information to internal stakeholders as needed to enable prudent project management

Maintain familiarity with Construction Division workflow and specific responsibilities of all stakeholders who interact with the Purchasing process

Analyze pricing proposals, financial reports, vendor feedback, and other data to stay current with changes in business practices and market conditions to determine reasonable prices

Assist internal customers (i.e., Estimators, Project Managers) with establishing project material budgets and tracking costs against them throughout the project life cycle

Negotiate terms and conditions for long term and initial buyout purchases

Assist with internal customers (i.e., Project Managers, Superintendents, shops, purchasing/receiving personnel) with equipment and material purchasing logistics

Work closely with suppliers and vendors to maintain competitive pricing and sustainable relationships

Serve as a liaison between suppliers/vendors and internal customers through the Purchasing Process

Develop and maintain relationships with vendors that participate in the Comfort Systems National Purchasing Program to maximize value for RBI.

Engage all employees within span of control to build relationships, enhance teamwork, assess employee performance, observe work progress and assure a safe working environment.

Education and Experience Requirements:

OSHA 10-Hour Certificationrequired as a minimum, additional training may be required

Minimum 3-5 years job related experience

Leadership experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

Ability to climb stairs/ladders to areas as needed

Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and normal lifting and bending that would typically be required in a warehouse environment

Other Requirements:

Comply with all safety standards, policies, and procedures

Maintain a clean work area and comply with housekeeping requirements

Regular and punctual attendance

Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)

Demonstrate working knowledge of materials and systems related to our business

Demonstrate leadership and proactivity

Possess excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

Possess excellent organization and follow-up skills and demonstrate attention to detail

Demonstrate professional demeanor and a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude

Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to work on a team and interact with people

Ability to work independently without direct supervision

Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner

Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with internal and external customers

Ability to work 8-to-10-hour days, flexible schedule, and overtime when necessary

Participate in training and educational opportunities as offered or required by the company

Ability to accurately read a ruler or tape measure

Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening

Valid driver’s license required and ability to meet company driver qualification policy preferred

Any other duties assigned by Supervisor or Management
