We are currently searching for a
Junior
Estimator . The primary responsibility of this position is to work with the estimating team to develop detailed cost estimates and proposals for heavy civil construction projects.
Responsibilities
Attend pre-bid meetings
Detailed quantity takeoff and summary (Earthwork, Utilities,aving)
Communication with clients for bid requirements
Bid file document control
Vendor and Subcontractor solicitation and quote review
Develop and complete estimates for projects
Work with clients on preliminary project budgets
Maintain existing and develop new client relationships
Pre-construction budgeting and turnover
Some travel, including overnight required ( Qualifications
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred
Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling, cost control, specifications, and engineering drawings
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Possess strong mathematical and computer skills
Must be able to meet deadlines
Effective oral and written communication skills
Candidates must possess a strong work ethic
Work independently as well as part of a team
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
Research services for methods, costs and construction techniques
Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements is preferred
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, grasp, reach with hands and arms, see, speak, and hear. Frequently stand and walk. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or bend. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Most work is performed in office environment.
