Founded in 1985 by Tetsushi Mizokami, Uncle Tetsu is an international Asian‑inspired bakery best‑known for its original Japanese Cheesecakes. There are over 80 Uncle Tetsu locations across the world, each providing guests with its signature sweet and fluffy cheesecakes marked with the infamous Uncle Tetsu character stamp.

The Baker is responsible for preparing all cakes, cookies and tarts according to company recipes and standards, with accountability for:

Preparing cheesecakes, cookies and tarts to meet Uncle Tetsu standard for flavor, color, and aroma.

Guiding Baker Assistant and assisting with their training.

Able to perform all Baker Assistant duties.

Education and Experience

Some high school education.

Minimum one year of Operations experience.

Food Safety : Local/municipal requirements, such as Food Handler certification, must be acquired at applicant’s own expense.

ADA Statement : While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment, and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high. Employees must be able to work in a fast‑paced work environment, have effective verbal communication skills, adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities, and manage conflicts or difficult situations.

Pay Range: $20 per hour – $23 per hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
