Job Title
The Office of the Comptroller at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites applications for a full-time, nonexempt, position with benefits. Invoice Management: Responsible for the daily receipt of invoices from campus departments and external vendors. Distribute invoices to campus departments for PO/PUR identification and oversee their timely return to Accounts Payable. Input PO/PUR invoices into the University's financial processing system (currently Workday). Oversee campus entry or direct self-entry of Supplier Invoice Requests for non-PO/PUR invoices. Payment Processing: Process Accounts Payable invoices, prepare batches, and submit them to the State of Maryland via the EBooks upload system. Issue Resolution & Research: Conduct research related to vendors, campus departments, Procurement, and the State of Maryland to resolve payment inquiries, outstanding invoices, and processing discrepancies. Use systems including Workday, FMIS, and communication with UMCP (owners of Workday and batch reports) to resolve issues. Assist Accounts Payable Clerk III with gathering necessary information for vendor address/contact changes and stop/reissue payment documentation. Policy Compliance & Training: Maintain a thorough understanding of UMES, USM, and State of Maryland procurement and accounts payable policies and procedures. Apply these processes appropriately within the current financial systems. Assist with training and educating UMES campus departments on these policies, procedures, and workflows. General Support: Perform other general accounting and clerical duties within the Comptroller's Office as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles, mathematical methods and techniques. Skill in performing basic mathematical computations and in the use of calculators. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to operate keyboards, personal computers and financial software, manual and automated office equipment. Ability to prepare written records and reports; to input data. Physical Demands: May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at desk. May require lifting. Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and internally. Requires operation of a variety of office equipment. Minimum Qualifications
