Opportunity
ILIAS Solutions, together with Belgium Defence, manages the complete data lifecycle of the
F-35 Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS)
and its successor, ODIN. To support the operational F-35 Squadron at Kleine Brogel Air Base, we are strengthening our mission‑critical IT team with a
Senior Database Administrator .
In this role, you will safeguard the integrity, performance, and security of databases supporting one of the world’s most advanced military aircraft systems. You will lead a team of administrators, ensure the stability of ALIS/ODIN environments, and contribute directly to operational flight readiness.
Due to the sensitivity of the program, this is a 100% on‑site position at Kleine Brogel Air Base. Remote work is not permitted.
Your mission Team & Leadership
Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of ALIS/ODIN database and system administrators.
Act as a senior technical authority within the data management domain.
Database & System Operations
Manage the full data lifecycle, including updates, replication, backups, and warehousing.
Execute performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization for mission‑critical systems.
Oversee and execute robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
Provide expert‑level support across Oracle, SQL Server, and integrated application platforms.
Infrastructure & Automation
Support Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux operational environments.
Apply automation using Ansible and scripting technologies (Shell, Batch, PERL).
Collaborate on system improvements, configuration management, and secure deployment practices.
Security & Compliance
Ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability within classified environments.
Maintain compliance with defence security standards and operational procedures.
Your capabilities Database Expertise
Oracle RDBMS, Data Pump, RMAN, performance tuning
PL/SQL, Transact‑SQL, SQLPlus
Microsoft SQL Server administration
Operating Systems & Platforms
Windows Server
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Red Hat Ansible Engine
Red Hat OpenShift
JBOSS Enterprise Application Platform
Scripting & Automation
Shell, Batch, or PERL scripting
Operating system administration and automation skills
Core Competencies
Proven leadership and team coordination
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to perform under pressure in operational environments
Excellent communication and collaboration
Fluent English (spoken and written)
Preferred Certifications
CompTIA Security+ CE
Oracle SQL or DBA certification
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Additional Requirements
Eligibility to obtain a
l security clearance
(or already holding one).
Willingness to work exclusively on‑site at a military air base.
Occasional on‑call or after‑hours support may be required depending on operational needs.
