SUMMARY
Perform a variety of financial activities including processing, recording, general ledger accounting, and accounts reconciliation. Primary responsibilities will be processing all accounts receivable and inventory functions. Accounting Specialist should be committed to provide efficient and reliable support to accounting department team members and other departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconcile inventory with 3 rd party facilities
Adjust inventory as needed for disposal, cycle counts, scrap
Process inventory receipts and returns
Process inventory transfers for products moving to 3 rd party facilities
Analyze inventory fluctuations and identify cost discrepancies
Process deposit for all incoming payments i.e checks, wire
Process payment request to customer for Co-op, advertisement expense and other related expense issued from customer
Provide back up support for sales order processing when needed
Assist in financial analysis and reconciliations
Participate in the monthly financial closing process
Assist with the year-end financial audit
Assist with Annual Physical Inventory
Filing and record-keeping tasks
Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required
REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s degree or relevant certification
3-4 years experience - AP, AR, Inventory and accounts reconciliation
Proficient in Microsoft software programs (e.g. word, excel and outlook)
Ability to accurately and efficiently analyze data
Experience and proficient in relevant accounting software (NAV software prefer but not required)
Strong follow up skills
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Self-directed and people-oriented skills required; ability to function both individually and within a team structure.
Provide timely and relevant information for decision-making purposes
Ability to liaise well with individuals at all levels of the organization both internally and externally
General understanding of accounting principles, business concepts, and operations as it relates to the job functions
Ability to meet set deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy, analysis and problem-solving
Ability to maintain confidentially and discretion
Flexibility to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
