Responsibilities
Inspect cranes, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
Keep logs of work and report on issues
Able to diagnose and/or determine technical problems
Able to perform regular inspection of all equipment within the department
Must document all repairs and parts replacement for equipment files
Be able to read, understand and follow hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical diagrams
Able to perform/execute repairs on equipment within the department
Mentor apprentices
Conduct all business in a professional, respectful manner
Understand and support Business Policies and Procedures
Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed
Carry out all work in accordance with business policies and procedures, including the use of all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
Other duties as assigned by supervision
Diagnostics and repair of electrical and mechanical failures in diesel engines
Change engine clutch
Diagnostic and repair of faults on electric system
Diagnostics and repair of electrical and mechanical failures in hydraulic systems
Diagnose and repair fault on air system
Check hydraulic pressures
General mechanical repairs on crawler crane
Safety crane inspection (Boom, pendant lines, wire rope, and structure)
Knowledge of crawler crane OSHA regulations
Job Qualifications
Must have sufficient training and experience in repairing of major brands of cranes & Heavy Equipment, Trucks and Trailers in fleet
Must have experience on Crawler Cranes to include:
Kobleco
American
Link Belt
Minitowoc
Education
Journeyman trade certificate
Leadership, basic computer knowledge and strong organizational skills and experience will be an asset.
Minimum of 5 years work experience with cranes.
