Position Summary The Senior Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing all daily field operations of Baker Design Build’s concrete crew, including planning, coordinating, and supervising work on commercial, civil, and infrastructure projects such as ADA curb ramps, sidewalks, foundations, driveways, retaining walls, and site concrete improvements. This position ensures that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to Baker Design Build’s quality standards, specifications, and customer expectations. The Senior Foreman leads by example, mentoring crew leads and laborers while maintaining clear communication with superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision

Direct and supervise all field activities for concrete crews (typically 6–12 workers, including Crew Leads, Finishers, and Laborers).

Coordinate daily work plans, assign tasks, and oversee the performance of field personnel.

Lead by example in safety, craftsmanship, and professionalism; maintain high morale and accountability.

Provide on‑job training and mentorship to crew members and crew leads to support skill development and career progression.

Communicate regularly with the Superintendent and Project Manager on project progress, manpower needs, and potential issues.

Conduct daily and weekly toolbox talks, safety audits, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).

Project Execution

Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work orders to plan and organize daily tasks.

Supervise all phases of concrete work including formwork, layout, subgrade preparation, rebar installation, concrete placement, finishing, and curing.

Oversee ADA curb ramp construction ensuring compliance with ADA, FDOT, and municipal accessibility standards.

Verify measurements, elevations, and layout for accuracy prior to pour.

Coordinate with the project management team for material deliveries, equipment scheduling, and manpower forecasting.

Maintain control of tools, materials, and equipment; ensure preventive maintenance and proper storage.

Troubleshoot field issues and adjust methods or sequencing to maintain productivity and quality.

Participate in project punch lists and ensure corrective actions are completed before final inspection.

Safety & Compliance

Enforce Baker Design Build’s Safety Program and OSHA requirements at all times.

Verify that all employees and subcontractors use proper PPE and follow established safety procedures.

Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions or practices are observed.

Ensure traffic control measures are in place for right‑of‑way and ADA‑related work zones.

Maintain accurate documentation of safety meetings, incidents, and corrective actions.

Quality Control & Documentation

Ensure all concrete work meets company and client quality standards for finish, durability, and ADA compliance.

Conduct final inspections for slope, elevation, and finish consistency prior to acceptance.

Complete daily field reports, time sheets, and quantity tracking forms.

Document and communicate production rates, equipment usage, and material consumption to the Superintendent or Project Manager.

Collaborate with engineering and QA/QC teams on submittal reviews, inspections, and compliance records.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Advanced understanding of concrete construction methods, finishing techniques, curing processes, and form systems.

Proven ability to supervise multiple crews or complex job sites simultaneously.

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and discipline effectively.

Competent in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications.

Knowledge of ADA ramp standards, FDOT specifications, and local codes.

Proficient in slope measurement, laser leveling, and concrete finishing tools.

Skilled at scheduling, sequencing work, and managing field productivity.

Excellent safety awareness and recordkeeping discipline.

Basic computer or tablet proficiency for digital daily reporting and time entry.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in construction management preferred.

Minimum 7–10 years of concrete construction experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or foreman role.

Proven success managing crews on ADA ramp, sidewalk, or structural concrete projects.

Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record required.

OSHA 30‑Hour Certification required (or must obtain within 60 days of hire).

FDOT or municipal experience preferred.

Working Conditions

Outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and heavy equipment.

Must wear company‑provided PPE (hard hat, reflective vest, gloves, steel‑toe boots, safety glasses).

Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

May include early morning, weekend, or extended hours depending on project schedule.
