A Day in the Life The Plant Mechanic is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of the grain elevator facility in Destrehan, LA, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and instruments. This role is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Position Details Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm with overtime.
Rate of pay: $31.49 an hour.

What You'll Be Doing
Preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, part replacement of plant equipment
Welding and cutting using a torch: tig, mig, and stick on piping and structural
Rigging and using cables and slings
Sheet metal layouts
Assembly and installation of bearings on shafts
Alignment of motors and gearboxes
Parts lubrication and other maintenance tasks
Regular inspections of grain equipment
Minimum Qualifications
TWIC card or ability to obtain TWIC card, required
Preferred Qualifications
Millwright/Mechanic experience
Welding and cutting using a torch
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Associate degree and/or technical certification
Experience aligning motors and gearboxes
