SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The ideal Cabinet Maker would be an experienced woodworker with experience in creating high-quality custom cabinets and will be able to work independently and as part of a team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Selecting the appropriate materials, fittings, and tools for each task
Cutting resources down to size, as needed
Planning an effective approach to work to ensure that each project is completed on time
Creating standard and custom components of cabinets
Gathering the elements of each cabinet and assembling the final product
Applying sealant, varnish, and paint to cabinets, if required
Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety protocols
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred
Minimum of 3 years experience in cabinet making required; experience in high-end custom cabinetry preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Knowledge of woodworking tools, carpentry machinery, and basic furniture tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in preparing solid wood
Experience in custom doors and installation
Punctual, safety oriented and cleanliness
Ability to handle physical workload and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Eager to take on responsibility with a personal sense of accountability
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time, some sitting, some walking. Employees will be expected to repeat much of the physical motions throughout the shift that may include the use of their feet, legs, arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Employees will operate a variety of equipment and hand tools in a repetitive manner requiring a high degree of manual dexterity and close visual attention. The employee must be able to carry and/or lift up to 50 lbs. if needed.
