Description
Under the direction and supervision of Cx staff, the Cx EIT I assists in creating commissioning plans from construction documents and prepares material estimates for Cx projects. The Cx EIT I is responsible for learning Cx technical policies and procedures as well as performing site visits for project managers when needed.
Essential Functions Prepares commissioning plans, including pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, and the training matrix from contract documents prepared by the project design and construction team
Assists with data input for Cx checklists
Prepares test procedures for checking the operation of systems
Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and shop drawings
Performs project site visits during construction to observe conformance to design specifications and owner expectations; visits may be with or without senior technical staff
Learns Cx technical policies and procedures during project execution
Attends training to become a certified commissioning provider
Participates in in-house training to gain knowledge in necessary technical areas
Assists the project team in developing technical documentation, proposals, and presentations
Acts and performs activities in a manner consistent with ethical engineering standards
Performs any other duties or responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies
Knowledge of industry software (Revit and AutoCAD)
Study and pass FE exam within first year
Skills and Abilities Interpersonal skills – ability to interact positively and work effectively with others
Comprehension – ability to understand information, ideas, and direction
Written communication skills – ability to clearly deliver a message with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Speech clarity – ability to speak clearly and in a common language
Detail-oriented – accuracy and thoroughness in tasks
Judgement and decision-making – logical, well-thought-out reasoning
Technical writing skills – ability to summarize or explain technical information clearly and concisely
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college
