Story Builder (Weekends)

Overview

Discover Children’s Story Centre is hiring Story Builders to work weekends (Saturdays and/or Sundays, £14.44 per hour, permanent part-time). Story Builders animate our Story Worlds by performing, storytelling, and supporting play, crafts, and exhibitions for families, schools, and community groups. They help keep spaces welcoming, tidy, and engaging while actively interacting with visitors. The role also offers opportunities to contribute creative activities and deliver outreach in libraries, schools, and festivals. We welcome applicants from varied backgrounds who are friendly, adaptable, and passionate about stories, children’s creativity, and working in a lively, family-focused environment. Immediate availability is required.

Responsibilities

Animate Story Worlds by performing, storytelling, and supporting play, crafts, and exhibitions for families, schools, and community groups.

Maintain welcoming, tidy, and engaging spaces while actively interacting with visitors.

Contribute creative activities and deliver outreach in libraries, schools, and festivals.

Support colleagues and work as part of a friendly, adaptable team in a lively, family-focused environment.

Qualifications
