Overview

Position Summary: Prepare portions of contract proposal estimates for any discipline. Perform take-offs on systems, material and equipment according to applicable project plans and specifications. Responsibilities

Prepare proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Attend pre-bid meetings and/or tour job sites to confirm requisite take-offs. Prepare estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of work, using FastPIPE or FastDUCT or McCormick and/or ConEst(Intellibid) estimating software. Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including information on pricing from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, software uploads, etc. For electrical, perform at a minimum Estimator 1 take-off items and estimating take-off for switchgear, distribution, cable tray, UPS/PDU, emergency generators/ATS and associated feeders. Ensure accuracy and applicability of data in final project files. Support other department personnel as required; may include preparing estimates in other disciplines. May review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials. May provide support to field operations regarding mechanical estimates. Perform additional assignments as requested/needed. Implement pricing updates and version updates to FastEST. Provide assistance in the utilization of FastEST and collaborate with Training to facilitate training for others. Travel Requirements:

What you’ll need to be successful

Proficiency with FastPIPE and/or FastDUCT or similar estimating software Working knowledge of multiple disciplines, estimating techniques and cost control Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems Ability to perform detailed work and successfully meet deadlines What you bring to the table

High school degree or equivalent; some technical training or advanced education preferred At least 5 years estimating, controls and/or engineering experience related to mechanical construction Benefits
