Automotive Body Technician Location: Post Falls, Idaho

Job Summary An Automotive Body Technician is responsible for correctly and efficiently repairing damaged vehicle parts and bodies in accordance with factory and dealership specifications, ensuring each completed vehicle meets or exceeds quality and safety standards. You will be essential to the timely return of vehicles and take great pride in your finished product. Continued hands‑on training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Clearly communicate the diagnosis, repairs, and quote repair times to other technicians and estimators.

Inspect and test new vehicles and accurately record findings.

Use approved repair techniques and materials to recondition each vehicle to pre‑accident condition.

Replace automotive body parts and suspension components and complete structural pulls.

Repair small and large dents.

Complete factory and I‑CAR training requirements as requested.

Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Able to perform day‑to‑day body procedures in a production shop environment.

At least 2 years’ experience as an Automotive Body Technician in a production shop and provide own tools.

Frame rack and measuring experience.

I‑CAR certified is a plus.

Be able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance and stand, sit, bend, and twist for extended periods on concrete.

Have strong attention to detail and be organized.

Self‑motivated team player who can communicate effectively with estimators, painters, and other body technicians.

Valid driver’s license and ability to drive automatic and manual vehicles.

Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.

Pass a criminal background check and drug test. Also subject to random drug testing, reasonable‑suspicion testing, and post‑accident testing at the company’s request.

Physical Demands & Working Environment The role requires standing, walking, using hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment, speaking and listening over the phone and in person. Workers frequently reach, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs, 75‑100 lbs, or more than 100 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Team members regularly work 45‑50 hours per week with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, electrical shock, vibration, wet/humid conditions, and outside weather. The environment is fast‑paced and often noisy.
