Job Summary Performs repairs, maintenance, and service on electric, diesel, and gasoline company vehicles and equipment. Maintains accurate maintenance records and performs DOT inspections.

Main Responsibilities

Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams

Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies

Use diagnostic equipment, visual inspection, and other tools to diagnose faults or malfunctions to diagnose required repairs

Repair and replace damaged or worn parts

Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools

Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects, and verify repairs made according to manufacturer's specifications

Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings as necessary to ensure accurate operation of equipment

Inspect, Troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits

Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment, and make adjustments

Clean, lubricate and perform preventative maintenance work on equipment and assets according to manufacturer recommended intervals.

Fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or drawings

Maintain clean tools and working area

Perform other routine duties such as building maintenance, equipment hauling, and equipment operation

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Valid driver's license; required to maintain acceptable driving record

DOT Medical Examiner Certificate and/or ability to obtain required

Certificate in Diesel Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) preferred

Skills

3 or more years of experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic preferred

Experience performing U.S. DOT vehicle and brake inspections and adjustments preferred

Proficiency in MS Office Programs (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Basic computer skill, including ability to operate mobile device (phone, tablet, etc.) and related applications

Physical Requirements

Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Must maintain and provide basic tooling required for position; specialty tooling provided by the Company

Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance

Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle, and manipulate objects Physical Requirements

Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)

Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Standing/working on feet for long periods (8 hours or more), and walking across uneven terrain

Frequently exposed to loud noise produced by machinery and equipment

Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions

Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes, chemicals, or airborne particles

Benefits and Perks Compensation: $30-$35 DOE. *Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual's qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
